Good Luck Diy

Sorry to ruin the "never" however though we aren't married. There are things that are fine doing yourselves. As I felt my mom has put too much upon herself for this wedding and it has caused much stress.

But if you can .. don't try and do EVERYTHING yourselves. We did alot ourselves and paying for it now with being grumpy and over worked.

Get help its always needed !!

I agree. I was trying to do everything myself up until a week ago... I found I was just going crazy with all of the stuff that needed to be done. I have delegated some tasks and now feel a lot more in control.

Gathering

I wish I read this post earlier... this sould go to the planning session... hahahaha.. cause we are "making" lots of things ourselves and it is getting tiring... there are better things to do... so... buy it if you can

Good tips about delegating tasks. I found for my big day (as I'm sure a lot of brides can relate), because of the vision & had in my mind of what I wanted my wedding to look & feel a certain way, I had trouble letting others help out. BIG MISTAKE. It was a beautiful day, but nothing like I had envisioned it, so really ... I could have saved myself a lot of stress if I just relaxed & realized ... it's all what you make it.
I did want to share my favorite thing about my wedding (other than the obvious) ... the dj we hired. WOW. He was excellent. Really toped off the night.
Best of Luck to all you new & upcoming Brides out there. I'll be watching for you in the threads.
Samantha

This is my second wedding but the groom's first. I will be in Vancouver this year and am looking for ideas of where to shop for an untraditional wedding dress for a mature woman.
