Gathering Rate for food at the hotels?

Hi,
I've read through some of the treads, but I need some info on the food or service at some of the hotel:
Fairmont waterfront,
Marriott Pinnacle,
Sutton Place hotel,
Four season.

Right now I'd love to have it at westwood plateau, but most of my family and relatives live at downtown and burnaby area.
So I'm considering it at the hotels. But I don't know their quality of food, whether or not they have view (mountain view or lakeside view).

my FH and I are a fan of food. So we plan to have buffet menu, approx guest 200-250, and the food must be really good.

Anyone could help?

I was in a reception at the Four Seasons last year. It was a buffet dinner. I would say the food was not spectacular, just average 5-star hotel quality. There was absolutely no view at their ballroom, as there was not even a single window!

The best view I ever had in a banquet hall was at the Pan Pacific Vancouver. It had large windows all around. You can see the cruise ships parked at the port. Pretty nice there. However, unlike other hotel ball rooms, the headroom was very low at Pan Pacific. The food was extremely good, though!

Good Luck Hotel

Hello Yen!
I went to a wedding at Four Season a while back... and their food didn't impress me that much... just like honeybee said "average 5-star hotel quality".
I am a big fan of food, too... and we heard nice thing about the SFU Diamond Alumni Centre, which has a very nice view, too.
Hope it helps

23 1 21 ooops... I forgot...

I've never went to any wedding at Marriott Pinnacle, but I did have lunch there. Their food is good... however, they are very expensive... we were looking at $12,000 for 150 guests. Also you have to consider the "cutting fee" that every hotel will have to charge you for your wedding cake and parking for your guest is another thing to look out for.
Happy Venue Hunting!!!

Hi Yen!

I too wanted my wedding in a hotel in downtown vancouver. But after I received quotes from all of the major hotels i decided it wasnt worth it. My top contender was the Westin Bayshore, because of the ceremony room (such a beautiful view). Their pricing was adequate starting at $49.50/per person. I did look at the marriott pinnicale, and they charge approx 79.00 per person. I couldnt believe it. THere are so many hidden costs, such as $4.00 per slice (cake cutting fee), to alcohol starting at 8.50/per drink plus tax and 17% gratuity. The list goes on and on. I know a few people that got married in pan pacific and fairmont. All of them were exceptional, but again pretty pricey for a room with no windows.

I hope this sort of helps; btw the $ quotes I gave you were from the top of my head, i can check my notes when i get home and I will PM you if they are any different than i listed.

I was quoted on 250 ppl.
