Beg Here's what we are looking for...any ideas?

Hi ladies,

We don't have a date yet, the sooner the better...but I doubt it will be sooner.

We are trying for an outdoor wedding either with waterfront views, or right on a beach.

We are open to the Island or Gulf islands and or the Okanagan.

We would also consider a vineyard with great gardens or beautiful settings.

Its will be a small wedding, around 100 people. And we are DIY'ing most of it.

I would prefer to have accommodation's close or right at the location, but near by is fine too.

Rustic or lodge type, or cabins would be totally cool. We are down to earth and just want something beautiful and simple. Nothing fancy, but yet pretty!

Catering would be a nice touch too. Or some where with catering near by.

I hope thats not too much to ask for!

Any suggestions even ones with not all requirements would be awesome!

This place is absolutely beautiful!!! It is right on the water and they have done a lot of renovations. There are these really amazing tenthouse suites right on the rocks overlooking the ocean. They have a really nice grassy area that would be perfect for the ceremony location. They also have catering available. It is up on the Sunshine Coast, about an hours drive from the Langdale ferry. I would have gotten married up there in a heartbeat, but my fiance didn't want to Definitely worth checking out, but I think they get booked up pretty quickly, so don't put it off too late if it interests you.

small wedding venues

I'm also in the same situation. I originally planned to rent a vacation home thinking it would be easier and unique. We're learning that it's not necessarily easier nor cheaper to plan a small wedding. Here are the links that I found. The first link has been extremely helpful, emr vacation rentals has not. I would recommend following up with a phone call. Here's the links:

From my experience, there is far greater selection of smaller venues on Vancouver Island. Also, the housing market seems to be affecting the availability of some vacation rentals in Metro Vancouver. We found the ideal house, only to learn that it had been sold a week earlier!

This is a link to a venue we found this week. I have yet to hear back from them but it looks very promising.

Best of luck!

Good Luck

the okanagan has some beautiful wineries that you could check out that have views of the lake. Most of them also have resturants and have wonderful food.
Cedar Creek (Kelowna)
Summerhill (Kelowna)
Just to name a few....just google okanagan wineries
Like everything else, you will have to get on it and book right away

Good luck
