Totally Not Wedding Related but I need to Vent

So I bought a new car in Feburary since then I have had someone take a jiffy marker & run a line down the side of it, had to replace the windshield when I got a rock through it, take it in for serving as my LCD display stopped working.

Saturday night we are driving along and there is a car in front of us not being driven properly; weaving in & out of lanes, speeding up, slowing down etc (I won't even go there to tell you what was going on in the car). FH passes them and we continue about our way. We then get stopped by a red light FH is watching them pull up to us & he says "they are going to" and I hear smash & feel a bang.

We get out of the car & theirs in right on our bumper. FH asks them to back up & for their license & insurance papers. I go back to the car & grab my cell and dial 911 thinking that they are going to leave as they both (not to judge people) look like 2 cracked out meth adicts. Sure enough they back up into a parking lot & take off.

We flag down a police officer who just happened to be driving by & tell him what happened, he takes FH's license & my license & insurance papers. Then he says he has to go & that he'll be back. He speeds off to another call and comes back 20 mins later. Finishes up with us & then goes about his way.

Now I have to go to ICBC in Maple Ridge (I guess when it's a hit and run you have to go to the claim center closest to the accident) and then to my dealership to get it fixed.

GRRRRR I am so angry. Only good thing was I got their plate number so I hope that they are in big trouble!!

This happens so often now - people running off after a car accident. It makes me furious! Good thing you were smart and jotted down their license plate number. I think it is a good idea to carry a disposable camera in your car to take a photo of the accident scene, too. Hope your insurance will cover all the repair cost and no increase in your insurance premium!

WOW, that really sucks! it's a good thing you got their license plate #! I totally know what you mean tho when it come to bad luck with a car.... my car has been repaired 4 times in the past 3 years, and NONE of it has been my fault!! i was rear-ended once (the guy paid for it - he's a local actor), a jerk at my old highschool decided he would jump on my car and walk over it, causing the hood and roof to bend (he paid for it), the passenger window was smashed overnight once (all 5 cars parked on that street were victims, stupid kids!) i have obviouse scratches across my driver and back passenger door (like, one looks like aswirl, and the other is a squigly line), it was hit a bit my the car that was parallel parked behind me (my FH spray painted that at least so it's not so obvious) and i think the best one was when the Van that would drop of my younger sister's newpapers (they did this at like 3-4am) his big van backed right into my little honda, actually moving it to almost hit into our garage, and he didn't even TELL me or write a note or anything, so I leave for school at like 6:30-7am in the morning, and i notice the car is REALLY close to the garage, but i don't think TOO much of it except that i must have not been paying much attention the night before, all my cds and stuff inside the car are moved about which freaked me out, but i STILL didn't think much of it, and i didn't realise i had been hit until I arrived at school and walked around the back my my car to see that the bumper is half sticking OUT!!! omg, that freaked me out so bad, I called my dad right away and he thought of the newpaper guy right away and the guy fessed up and payed, but still, WHAT A JERK!!! omg, sorry, this turned into my own rant.... haha, i'll shut up now!

Ha ha ha rant on! I just find it so frustrating that I work so hard and don't get much further ahead but what I do have is MINE, I paid for it, I earned it and someone else can come along and take that from you or change it & you have no say.

I know I should be happy that neither of us was hurt (and I am don't get me wrong) and that they were hurt either but I am still mad. I almost feel like calling the dealership amd saying my car is broken I need a new one whaaaaaaa

Since I am on a roll - also really makes me mad that I have to take time off work to deal with ICBC which in turn puts my employer out as well!

<---- That pretty much sums up how I feel about this whole situation!

Cry2 Owieeeee!!

Well this really isn't a vent but is car related so I thought I would post here. I was in a car accident on Wednesday night on my way home, am pretty sure I have written off my car and I have seperated my collar bone from my breast bone.

So typing on this laptop is adding insult to injury - things will be pretty quite from me for the next little bit and anything wedding related that requires movement on my behalf will be on hold, thank god we are not getting married for another 52 weeks.... My right shoulder is 4 inches lower than my left all I can think of is pics of me on the wedding day with my body being all lopsided.

Anyway please write lots as I am pretty sure being off work for at least 2 weeks is going to be pretty boring and just because I can't type doesn't mean I can't read....

That's terrible! Another car accident! Wish you get well soon. Maybe you will get a new car?

Nope no new car, I did $10,000 worth of damage, because my car is worth $26,000 (depreciated) it was cheaper for ICBC to fix it than replace it. I understand where they are coming from but it is still very frustrating, I am still wondering why I have replacement insurance - I guess in case it is written off or stolen -

Oh well.

Long recovery road, going to physion 2x a week & will be for at least another 3 weeks. My collar bone / breast bone is healing nicely and the whiplash is pretty much in my back now instead of from my waist to ears.

It all takes time.

I cannot believe that it is already 2007 and that I'll be married in 10 months, it's amazing how time flies.

Anywho this isn't rant so I will stop - I hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
