Wedding rings - how much should it cost?

Hi ladies,

I was wondering how much is everyone's budget for wedding rings and how much should it cost...

Here's the thing: I want an eternity wedding band. Not too big, about .50 carat in total weight, yellow gold. See attached image for a sample. I think they will compliment my solitaire quite nicely. However, FH and I canvassed jewelery stores in Richmond, Burnaby, downtown and they all have different price ranges, some as high as $4500 but some as low as $700.

What do you girls think? How much should this ring cost?

PS.FH has his design picked already. He wants a titanium wedding band...lol...

Good Question!

I have no idea what the rule of thumb is but I think I would be willing to spend half of what the engagment ring cost... We've not even started looking yet

I have sorta started to look and I know one thing and that's the guys wedding band is way way cheaper than the womans wedding band. Ideally the average decent ring for FH would be around $400.00, I could be wrong though. Now For our rings I think it totally depends on what kind of ring we have and what goes with it. My ring comes in a set. I believe it was around $850.00 just for the wedding band which is white gold, thick band with diamonds all around it. OHHH I love it. I don't like to mention prices to people about rings ect. because i think it's personal but I will say that my e-ring was 5000.00+ so i don't think you have to spend half of what your e-ring cost. Hope this gives an idea. But hey the best advice i could say is start shopping and looking around. I love to shop and to try on rings lol.

Dance We bought the ring...

We found a great jeweller and we bought the ring for less that what I budgeted for. Including engraving, it's about $800 so I am quite happy... It's now sitting in my uber secure metal filing cabinet and once a while (i.e. every other night) I take it out and try it on, heheheheh
