| stag/stagette ideas in Lower M? Well, not only do we have our own wedding to think about (in over a year's time, so I should chill out), but we've recently found out that our friends are getting married quite soon (May).
FH is the best man. He needs to plan an awesome stag for his buddy, but because this is the fourth wedding of our friends for 2006, he can't break the bank to have a great time. Any suggestions or stories of stags that were local?
Also - I'm probably going to have my stagette this summer - some of the bridesmaids are from out of province, and there are few times we can be together. Any ideas for a really awesome stagette that was local? I'm trying to avoid the bar scene - I'd like my FMIL and my mom to have a great time and not feel out of place. I was thinking about taking in a show and then gambling at the River Rock - what do you think?

| I thnk that sounds great.
I think my girlies and I might do one of those spa nights where you can bring music, food and wine all get pedicures or something.
I've been to a lot of stagettes in Whistler but I'm a little over it. |

| How about going away to a spa or something? A lot of the Gulf Islands have really nice and reasonable spa resorts. Also for the guys, if they want to rent a cabin or something I would say to look for places on the Islands as well. |

| I am trying to find a country bar fairly close to Surrey besides Pancho's and Boone County. I just don't want people to drink or drive and want it to be fairly close to home so it doesn't break the bank for cab fares. Does anyone have any ideas? The only reason I picked a country bar is because it's casual and great for all ages, and my mom & FH's mom and our aunts will be there...can anyone help????

| How close to Surrey does it need to be? Could you do Eight Seconds in Langley (never been there - heard it's fun) or perhaps Gabby's? I've heard that Gabby's has switched to a more top forty feel though, that might not work.
Otherwise, could you perhaps arrange a van and a D.D. to drive you out to Rooster's in Pitt Meadows? Maybe a mom or a pregnant friend wouldn't mind being the responsible one? Just rent a Budget van - would that hold you?

| That's my problem, there is about 30 of us invited and 60% if those invited don't drive...I need to get a final count, but the stag is only 2 weeks away!!!! Thanks though tarack I was thinking of Eight Seconds.

| Okay - what about ditching the bar idea and hosting a little "rodeo" in someone's backyard?
Have a barbeque, some lame(but fun) games, everyone could dress up, and you could blare country music all night? I realize that some living quarters wouldn't work for this, but it'll solve the transportation problem.
I know that some people really like to have their stags in a bar though (especially if you're doing any of those treasure-hunt/buy-a-candy-for-a-quarter games). If so, then maybe finding some D.D.s? They don't have to necessarily join you, but they could do a run there, and a run at about one a.m.? Pay them $100 or something?
Good luck!
UPDATE on our stag planning: So far, one stag has been booked for paintballing and then a partybus all around downtown. FH helped plan this one, but he's still trying to come up with a great idea for his best friend's upcoming stag. Again, ladies, any ideas? Let me know.

| What about taking the skytrain downtown???
When my friend had her staggette a few years ago, we all went for dinner at the Boston Pizza by Surrey Central (is that still there???) and then we hopped onto the train and went downtown.
We went to yuk yuks for some laughs and then we went to the bar that was next to it. (sorry dont' remember the name, getting a little forgetful in my old age) hahahaha |
