Beg Rehearsal Dinner Help

My FILs are not exactly the planning type and don't seem to be that interested in planning a rehearsal dinner. I asked them about it about a month ago (very politely asked if they had any plans in mind as I knew that traditionally the grooms parents take care of the rehearsal dinner) and my FMIL said she hadn't really thought about it, and did I have any ideas. She thought maybe a BBQ at the cabin/B&B my family & I are staying at the night before the wedding, but after thinking about it I've decided I'd rather not have to deal with the clean up and trying to kick everyone out so I can get some sleep.

So it's now 53 days till the wedding and I'm thinking we should probably figure something out...

Does anyone have any ideas? I don't know if we're going to have to pay for it or if the in-laws are paying or what so I need it to be fairly inexpensive in case we're stuck with the bill. Like a local park with a picnic shelter we can rent or something.

Please, please help...I'm so lost.

Thanks : )

Maybe you can have your rehearsal dinner two nights before your wedding, that way you don't have to worry about staying up late with your guests?

We also have a lot of out of town guests coming (we are going to be coming in from Toronto, and the GM are from out of town as well) Because of this, we might be forced to have it the day/night before the wedding. Alternatively, you could arrange to have the rehearsal in the morning, and go out for lunch, which may be cheaper than dinner.

I heard of another couple having their rehearsal, then having everyone meet up at the pub afterwards (everyone pays for themselves). It would depend on what you are comfortable with. I don't like the idea of a pub (especially if people get all drunka$$ the night before the wedding!!!)
