Photo session before or after ceremony?

Some people are adamant about having their photos taken after the ceremony. Just wondering how many people are having their photos taken before the ceremony?

The one thing we have wanted to do traditionally is, not see each other before the ceremony. I will be staying in a hotel the night prior & we'll see each other as I walk down the aisle so we're doing pictures after.

We will have individual pics with our parties prior to however...

It's a good idea to take pictures with the parties before the ceremony so you save some time in the afternoon for pictures of just the bride and groom.

I also heard that some wedding couples become very tense before the ceremony so it is probably better not to see each other to avoid getting on each other's nerves!

I am a Chinese bride. Our tradition: the groom comes pick up the bride and have the tea ceremony before the western ceremony.

So we will probably take some picture (in both Chinese and Western gown) before the ceremony.

Also, my ceremony takes place in late afternoon. It is hard for us not to see each other.

manman that sounds really interesting! I love all the different cultural aspects of other people's weddings - it makes me wish we had more traditons!
