How much time are you allowing for family / formal pictures???

Hello. I am trying to find out how much time I should schedule in for the family and formal pictures.I'm getting the pictures done after the ceremony leading right to the reception. For the brides who are getting pictures done after the I'd like to know how much time you scheduled for your. I don't know if an hour and half is long enough or to go to two hours ect.

Family photos take around 30-40 minutes depending on the size of your family. Photos of the wedding couple/party will take around 1.5 - 2 hours. Also, consider travel time if you are taking the photos at a different location. Overall, I think it is safer to schedule a bit more time (around 3 hours) in case of contingency. It is better to have some spare time to catch your breath than to be rushing the whole day!

My timetable I will hope looks something like this

Ceremony start: 4:00pm
Family pictures from the time the ceremony ends until 5:15pm
Bridal party goes off for other pics and arrives at reception venue between 6:30pm and 7:00pm. Our driving distance is very short since it will all take place in Richmond.
Dinner to start at 7:30pm

Don’t know how feasible this schedule is but I hope it may work!
