DJ Services ~ Insured, Licensed, Registered, & Referred

Hi, I am Johnny "The Vinyl Spinner" Komitoudis. I just found out about these forums from a craigslist post. If anybody is interested, then please check out my website. I will gladly entertain any questions or concerns.

Edit: I am so very glad that my January 19, 2008, post says something about my guarantee (some form of which I have had since I began, in 1998). Why? Because there is somebody who is claiming to be the only one offering guaranteed DJ services (and anybody who has ever taken the time to network with truly professional local and international DJs would know that this is not true, anyway--rather, it is just part of running a legitimate business).

Hi Johnny,
I just thought I would add a testimonial to your post, since I have been able to work with you in the past.

It was really a joy to work with you, I was very impressed with how efficiant you were with your set-up, professional, easy going approch to the Bride & Grooms family and friends. As said before on your site, I find the whole process of using real vinyl something not seen enough these days and I'm glad you have kept it going.
Things have been known to happen such as blown hard drives on a computer or a virus is found on a ipod, the DJ is at a loss for providing any further music unless they have backup. ... I hope they have backup.

Your work is highly recommended from not only your brides but the vendors you have worked with and I am proud to have you on my top list of vendors.

All the best!

Selena McKnight

Thank you, Selena.

I would like to note that I, too, have backup music; ironically, it is in a digital form (though still different: I use MiniDisc technology to download the few songs that I need, which are not available on vinyl, and to record songs from vinyl, just in case). With two music libraries and two sound systems at the event, I can provide a written, full-compensation guarantee that states that there will be no loss of music because of any fault of mine or my equipment.

I would also like everyone to note that, even if a DJ has an AVLA license, as I do, the DJ is still not permitted to download songs from the internet unless it is from the AVLA's site. And, even if a DJ has an AVLA license, it is also illegal to give "promotional" CD's of copied music; if it were legal, then I would also provide this popular feature. You can read all of the necessary information yourself, at: http://www.avla.ca
