Kiki's Wedding photo

Hi to all

Let me just say that I don't ever wanna have to plan another wedding! It was sooo much work! Anyway, I got married in 2007 and even though I won't be planning a wedding ever again, I remember how difficult it was when I was making decisions about vendors. So I decided to tell other brides about my experience with the vendors.

1. Kiki's photos - my biggest mistake in planning my wedding (next to the food). People say "don't cheap out on your wedding photos" and they are right. I was shopping around for a photographer who could really capture the moment and had considered quite a few local photographers. I started with the whole "I must have superb wedding photos and will settle for nothing less than the best".

However, as the search and the planning went on, expenses kept stacking up. So Kiki's relatively low price (about half of other photographers) and decent looking portfolio were very attractive and I ended up hiring her. Sure she's nice. She's affordable. but if you ask me now, I am still kicking myself for choosing her.

Below are the problems I have with my wedding photos.
1. she has a funny sense of range. Pictures are either too close or too far. Mostly too close. I'm talking about photos where the top of the bridegroom's head is cut off. Now what am I supposed to do with those? There were quite a few of those in my wedding album.

2. she doesn't offer any tips as to what kind of poses would look good or bad. I did a lot of photos with my husband standing behind me and that had my back hunched over because of my hair and my veil gettin in the way of my husband. the pose looked really weird in the picture. She should have told me these things.

3. outdoor pictures were all of the same background. Her pictures lacked variety.

Anyway, if I had to do it all over again, i'd go for Yaletown Photography. I thought they were too expensive, but now I feel that they would've been worth the money.

Sorry to hear about Kiki's. I've never heard of them before, maybe that's why?!

True, at the beginning I had a pretty tight budget for photography. After searching for hundreds of photographers, I do believe what you pay is what you get (in most cases!). Finally I found a reputable photography studio through www.wpja.com.

The works by these photographers are really professional I do suggest the brides to check this out.

I have booked Hee Creations Photography www.hee.ca for my July wedding, chose them because I like their style, creative and naturally stylish you know, I don't like fashion style or heavy photoshopping style much. I am very satisfied with their works for my engagement, can't wait to work with them soon.
