WEdding date: Sept. 8th, 2007
Wedding invitations: I made myself -- from cardstock from michaels, then learned embossing.
Ceremony - Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church - excellent with choir from St. Mary's Catholic Church
- It was such a nice church to get married in with excellent choir.
Reception - Four Season's Hotel- downtown vancouver with catering manager Lisa Ng
It was a beautiful reception site in the ballroom with decorations by SweetBeginnings.
I also had Alannah Volp as the Coordinator for the ceremony and the beginning of the reception. She created a relaxing atmosphere for me for my day -- helped me relax. She was ok.
Wedding favours - cookies made by the same person who made my cake take out boxes ordered online from the states and ribbons from michael's and tags from weddingthings.com - they have a store in yaletown.
Flowers by Husband's cousin--Charmaine Calalang -- the flowers were just beauuutiful!!She totally worked with what I had in mind and made them really much better. She really made beautiful flowers from bouquet to the centerpieces in tables and church flowers.
Cake by Family Friend-- again, beautiful and delicious!
Videographer: Paul Leung from 2 in love (
http://www.lo2ve.com)
Very good to work with-- not intrusive and is really thinking of only the best finished product for memories to keep. I gave them complete control of the lighting in the room coz only they know how much they need. It was NOT intrusive at all. They still kept the room very intimate and only turning up the light to the important parts that they need on video. The guests couldn't even tell if lights were dimmed or all turned up. The reception atmosphere continued to be intimate despite of lighting changes. The lighting changes were really very suttle. I'm still waiting for the finished product.
Photographer: Masaki Leung from Hee creations (
http://www.hee.ca) very good to work with - not intrusive, respects requests, very professional and yet relaxing to work with. Very pleased with my engagement photos product. Still waiting for the wedding day finished photos.
Wedding gown - Bryan's Bride - easy people to work with. I knew which style I wanted, it was just a matter of trying on different ones and picking out the best one. Alterations also offered by Olga at the same place. She was also easy to work with - and considering I was very picky on how I wanted my dress to bustle, she was very patient. =)
Shoes - Joneve - very cool shoes and very comfortable. I wore three types of shoes throughout the day and night. My feet were totally comfortable even though I danced all night long !
Makeup - by Shaifa -- shaifa.com She was very professional. She did my make up and my mom's and 2 of my bridesmaids. You get lashes and a free lipstick after. She was very affordable compared to her years of experience and excellence in the industry.
Hair - Lina -- my hairdresser from many years back - she really worked well with my hair and my bridesmaids. She works at Bonnie and Clyde hair salon in richmond near no.3 road and westminster behind vancity.
Gown during the dancing part of the reception - I designed my own gown to changed into after the formal parts of the reception was said and done. I had a really good seamstress to work with and very cheap.
Bridesmaids dresses - designed by me and made by the same seamnstress who made my gown.
Tuxedos for groom and his groomsmen - Western tux. Great to work with despite of my husband's changing mind to styles and etc. They gave us a very reasonable package.
Limo - dreamlimosine. SUV was excellent but the 10 people cadillac turned into an old lincoln was very old with very old driver was not fun for our parents and for my husband's ride to the church.
