| Why Did You Choose Your Wedding Date? How did you decide on your wedding date? Was it an anniversary, favorite time of year, or just the date that happened to work best for you?!!
My FH and I knew we wanted to get married during the warmer months, just so there would be less likelyhood of it raining. At first we were thinking June 2007. August was out, since that is my birthday month. May was out since that was my brothers birthday month. We thought perhaps the end of June since my parents were married June 27. I was looking at the weather almanac and noticed that July 21 and 28 have a good pattern for sunny weather. The end of July dates started growing on me more and more: since I am a student, it would give me the perfect amount of last-minute-planning time I would need from the end of semester, in mid-April. I also have no idea if I was be in the Nursing program or not by then, which would mean a heavy courseload, and not much planning done during the semester, so I really need those 3 months between April and July. My MOH is studying to be a Psychologist and she is pretty much MIA during the school semester months, so a July date worked perfectly for all! Then, something clued in to me - the coolest date ever! July 7 2007 = 07/07/07. My FH would never have an excuse to forget our anniversary (not that he ever would!). I told him that date and he was sold. Now I'm just trying to book stuff early because I know it will be a popular date!!
How did you choose your date?!! |

| We actually chose a few dates beofre this one before actally settling on May 6th. Things just kept coming up on other dates. We had to make sure my sister would be at home in BC (she is doing her masters degree at Dalhousie in Nova Scotia), make sure my FH would be off school (he is still completing his degree at SFU), wait until I was finished my nursing degree etc, etc, etc. So our date ending up being more of a date of convenience more than anything else.
Off topic.... where are you doing your nursing?

| Well - we had our first date and kiss on April 19. So....when we were looking at dates April 19 was our first choice but April 19 does not fall on a Saturday until 2008??!?? So we did what we thought was the next best thing~ we looked to see when in 2007 the 19th fell on a Saturday and the only one was May 19 (bonus that it is the long weekend).
So the date really does mean something to us.

| We knew that we wanted the warmer months, and we had gotten engaged in May ... so we would have rather the first part of the summer. I also show horses, so I didn't want to have it too close to the busy season for me. FH's favorite number is 42 and 24 is backwards of 42 (his brother also did the same and got married Aug 24) Hence why we are getting married June 24!!

| We serisouly picked out date when it was the best time to go on a honeymoon.
24 has always been a good number and the best time, in our opinion, to go to mexico is just after spring break so we planned the wedding for March 24. It really has no significance to us. :P |

| I screwed up our date - but we decided to stick with it anyways.
I wanted to get married on the weekend in between the two weeks off I have for Spring Break (I'm a teacher) - without checking my calendar, I assumed that the break would fall on the last two weeks of March.
Well, stupid me, it falls on the middle two weeks of March 2007! My wedding day is two days before I have to go back to work!
But, after we found out that the weekend we wanted was booked, I just sucked it up and decided that two weeks off before the wedding date was probably better than nothing. I'll try to take a few days off (probably without pay, but whatever) after the wedding - if I don't, oh well.
(I should add: we're not going away for our honeymoon until the summer - so nothing is really lost with this Spring Break screw-up).
I like the idea of getting married in March - it's the beginning of Spring, I won't be sweating from the heat, and our picture will be great with the cherry blossoms mixed with the gnarly trees. | |

We met online and i came to bellingham on the 15th but they would let me past the border because i was taking grey hound bus and i didn't have a renturn ticket. So chris and his mom had to go over the border to pick me up...lol.And we came into canada on the 16th...So it was a special day for us. And thats how we choose december 16th....Mindy |

| My FH and I have not actually settled on a date yet. We are in the process of trying to decide on a venue, but the process is going very slowly and I am actually becoming slightly nervous.
I have big dreams and big plans, but I do not know how they are going to fit into the "bigger picture". Our wedding date will depend on Venue availability and pricing I suppose.
We have been thinking of 07/28/07 but that is most certainly not set in stone! |

| FH originally wanted it to be Oct 10th, our anniversary date and then our families got involved.........In our culture it's common to use astrology with our birthdays to be the "best day" to our signs. So we ended up with Oct 8th which is pretty close to our anniversary so I'm happy. It wasn't a huge deal to do it this way, however I really did want September and all the dates that would work for our signs were booked. |

| There was no real reason for us to choose july 21 other then i am a teacher and wanted a summer wedding. We did choose a friday wedding though for a couple of reasons...hopefully it would be cheaper( which it is) and we wanted to be able to spend time with our out of town guests after the wedding and before going on our honeymoon |

We have not set our date in stone, but I have considered a Friday as well.... we'll keep you posted once the date is set!!!
So everyone else?? Why did you choose your date? How many of you had to change your date because a venue was booked???? |

| August 12th, 2006 is our date.
We wanted a summer wedding because FH is a grad student and school won't be as much of an issue in the summer. And more friends will be likely to travel here in the summer.
The biggest was we're having an outdoor wedding ceremony, and I'm *praying* that it'll be a sunny, rainless day. August seemed the best bet for that, plus there were still dates available at our site.
We went with the 12th partly because of a song called 'the 12th of never' - my mom insisted when she heard the dates we were choosing between, and we're total romantics, so it meshed well with us. |

| FH and I have actually been engaged since we were 17 and 18 years old, and after only knowing each other for 3 months to boot! We knew immediately after meeting each other that it was the real thing, and that we were meant to be together forever. After graduating from high school we moved in together (we could never stand to be a part) and our parents were (originally) in a panic thinking we'd never start or finish college, get good jobs etc. Now at 23, and nearly 6 years later, we are both graduating from College this summer, with those "good jobs" secured, and getting married a month later. We picked October because that is a month after graduation, but we picked October 15, because that is the day he got down on his sweet little teenage knee and proposed to me. We both also love the fall, with the changing leafs and brisk air (which provides the perfect natural color pallet for a wedding: reds, golds, oranges, bronzes etc) He already calls me his wife, and his parents already call me their daughter, but I can't tell you how hard I'll cry when the ring is finally on my finger and the pastor announces me his *real* wife. We've been waiting so long for this moment that neither of us can even mention it without tearing up. |

| Our venue had two dates left in June and we picked the later date. Nothing left in July or August and our first pick was at the end of August. |
