Tuxedo vs. Suit

My wedding will take place at 2:30pm in the afternoon and the reception will take place at 5pm in the evening. I would like my FH to wear a tuxedo but I've read articles that say that a tuxedo should be worn only after 6pm.

I would like to hear some opinions about wearing a tuxedo. All feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Never heard of this. I have seen many grooms wearing tuxedo throughout the entire wedding. What's the reason behind this 6pm rule?

I was wondering where they come up with that stuff too. I read it in an article. They said a tuxedo is formal and should be reserved for weddings that take place later in the day. I'm not really concerned about it though, I want my FH to wear a tuxedo. I was just wondering whether there was any validity to the claim.

I can see maybe not wearing a tux to a morning wedding, or beach wedding...but even then I think it's completely up to what the couple (ie: bride) wants! It's like the no white after Labour day rule...you're not going to get struck down by lightning if you do! If it's a tux you see in your grooms future, then bring on the tux!!

tux.

We have decided to go with Tuxs for the big day. Our wedding ceremony is at 4:00 and will be an outdoor ceremony.
I must add that I do feel a tiny bit sorry for the guys since the weding day is 7/7/7; that means it will be hot hot hot. My fh has made a comment that he's not too happy about the idea of being all hot blah blah blah. I just said hey i'm in a full dress that weights a lot. That was the end of that. lol. lol. lol......

Bahhhh Hum Bug

I agree wear a tux, who are "they" anyway to tell you what you can & can't wear? If you were marrying the Morocan prince maybe but please - give me a break "they" will never know any the different as I am sure "they" would be too snotty to grace you with their presence....

My 2 cents..
