How to promote this site - Vancouver Wedding Forum

I wonder how we can promote this site. I suspect many brides in the region won't know our existence unless we do something to spread out the words. I don't know how many Lower Mainlanders will eventually see my post at WB. Ideas are welcomed!

I think word of mouth is one of the best advertisements ... I know I am going to tell all of the bride's I know. I think it is great to have a place JUST for us Lower Mainland girls (and guys too)

Promote it on Clubvibes.com and Clubzone.com. There are many brides on those sites that would love a place to talk!

i don't think that we can count on the guys! My husband did nothing when we prepared our wedding!

Thanks. Are they forums? goodtoglow, would you please help me promote the site at the sites you mentioned? Currently, I have tonnes of things to do... adding new moderators, ask questions from member, etc.

). Maybe another post on WB in a more hightraffic than the westcoast forum area would be good, too.

A good thing to do is put a link in your signature at other forum and just link it to a post you have made...say about yoru dress or something. Just post in BC, lowermainland specific sites.

People will click on it and realize this forum rocks! hehe

As for vendors we can email vendors personally and tell them about his site and get them to post. That could also bring brides because alot of vendors also get married, and they will tell other brides as well.

Thanks lovepirate, local ad would be excellent. I don't know about having more posts on WB. It's like pulling their members. What do you think?

I think that if you post a message on Craiglist (which is fairly relaxed about things) you could pull a lot of attention towards the forum. As for the WB thing, there's nothing wrong with adding it to our signatures, is there? Lots of members have their wedsites in their signatures, you could argue that these are pulling attention away from the boards as well.

Furthermore, a majority of the members on WB are based in Ontario - I doubt that anyone would raise a stink that a small minority would like to have a second forum. (Although, I'm a fairly laid back person when it comes to loyalty, perhaps some WB moderators would disagree.)

Also - could you try to approach any vendors who have websites? Perhaps they'd link you? For example, there are some dress shops (like Brians' Bridal, etc) or venues that would perhaps like to offer specials or promotions on this forum. An e-mail that offers them the chance to post here could also state that it would be an idea to link this forum to their site?

Anyways - this post was poorly worded; sorry for the ramble.

I'll spread the word any way I can.

Well, ya I guess we shouldn't 'steal' WBers, hehehe. Just thinking that even for westcoasters, that forum isn't as popular as some of the others. We'll see how it goes over the next while I guess. I will do up a local ad this week!

Almost 50 members in just a few days! Good job, ladies!!!

Just to keep you posted on some recent development:

- goodtoglow added a posting on craigslist (thanks!). I also added a posting there in another section.

- two of the vendors posting here have added our link to their websites. I have requested the other 2 to do the same.

- added forum link to my WB signature

- mrsmacdonald and lovepirate keep posting to my original WB thread to keep it on top. Brilliant!

Please continue to spread the word to your friends and vendors! Let's make history together...mmm... think I'm exaggerating a bit now, lol...

I've received a lot of interest in my flowers since I posted the one time in the vendor section. I was referred to you by a bride on here. I have added a link to Bride Things on my site and will definately support you. This site is very easy-going and supportive of both brides and vendors. A very nice thing to see.

I found this site because someone had a pink box in their signature that said Bride Things and they said to click it to talk to BC brides.... I was hoping to get that box too for my signatures everywhere so I can help promote as well, seeing how it worked to get me here!
