Chair covers

Hello
Whats the opinion on chair covers?
My reception chairs aka 'banquet chairs' are new and are burgundy. I'm having a semi-formal reception (as in lunch reception), and my wedding colors are pink and orange.

Are chair covers really necessary to evoke a mood?

Hi Mitzdemeanor,

I would take a swatch of your bridesmaids dress fabric to the banquet hall to make sure it won't clash too much. I think that should be your only concern.

Have you seen the hall where your reception is done up with chair covers and done up without? That was what sold me on chair covers (although, my venue's chairs are navy blue and older... that was another factor).

If you haven't seen a picture of what the chairs look like covered or uncovered, I'd ask your venue for pictures of other weddings. I'm sure they'd be more than happy to provide.

Hope that helps!
Michelle

Hello

I'm more wondering about the necessity of chair covers in a semi-formal wedding.
Does anyone really notice them? Does it evoke a different mood when chair covers are there than when they're not?

Hello,

I think it completely depends on what you want and how you’d like people to ‘feel’ when they walk into the room. Covered chairs definitely add a sense of elegance and uniformity to the room.

First impression is really important to my fiancé and I, and we believe that decoration has a lot do with giving that wow factor to our guests, so we’re splurging money on the chair covers and getting a professional decorator to decorate our venue!

But again, this is completely up to you and what's important for you – I don’t think you should look into this whether people would notice it or not (they may or may not – LOL), but if it’s important to you that your venue looks a certain way, then you should go with your gut feeling (budget permitting, of course J).

Hope this helps!!
