Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a makeup artist who could come to my home the day of the wedding and do 6 girls faces. I live in burnaby, ceremony and reception in coquitlam.

I don't wear makeup at all and would be happy not wearing any but everyone keeps telling me that i need to or i will wash out. I am not comfortable in makeup and as such i don't want to spend mega bux on it or have to go and buy a tonne of products and then do it myself.

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a certain type of make up that you are wanting?? There are several great ones ... Pamper Me Pretty, MAC free lance artists etc. Any more info you can provide would help us recommend someone more suitable for your needs.

I am not sure what type of makeup i want.

I enquired with pamper me pretty and although i have heard great things about them the price tag was way too steep. It would have been close to $800 for the 6 of us and it was way out of my budget.

I have my hairdresser doing our hair so i'm just looking for someone to come to my house to do simple, naturaly looking makeup on us that will stay for as long as possible as we are doing pictures in the afternoon prior to the ceremony and reception.

As I mentioned in my original post. I don't wear any makeup currently, never have and i really don't know what to look for.

When is your wedding? I am a makeup artist but I am in school again for nursing so I only do things via word of mouth. If I'm available/enough time to book it off work, I can send you some pictures. I don't overcharge since I know what its like to have a budget. You could go to MAC and pick out a foundation color and I could go there and buy it with my 40% off, as could any of the bridesmaids, and you would just pay for it, that way I don't have to include a huge kit fee with my price and you always have the makeup! I always rcm'd brides have and use their own foundation/lipstick/mascara so they know they are comfortable with what they are wearing and will have no surprises!! goodtoglow@gmail.com

Hi, I personally really don't mind members helping each other out. For one thing, you helping others to order the ice cube thing was really great. Each member has her own background / contacts which could be extremely helpful to others.

I am thinking may be we can have a database in the future listing the special skills/jobs of our members. May be members can Swap services! However, for members like myself who really do wedding business, I will say they shall not be allowed to post any ads outside the "Vendors Place". For you, I am sure that you don't fall into this category and you are a great asset on our board!

Sorry, to steal this post. However I'm still looking for an airbrush makeup artist to do my makeup though I have a friend I don't know if he would be able to do it on such short notice hopefully can... does anyone know someone who is willing to do airbrush for 75 dollars or less.

If I hadn't of sold my airbrush kit, I would do it but I'm not a fan of airbrushing so I sold it a year ago! Try contacting Dave at Artopia if it's still around.

Is there a reason why most makeup artists prefer MAC vs other companies? I usually use clinique products (when I actually wear makeup) and have noticed that many artists don't use such products...is there a reason why I shouldn't use clinique on my wedding day...like does it not stay on as long or any other reason? Just thought I'd ask, b/c I have been noticing how everybody is big on MAC.

I never wear makeup but I know people are big on MAC because it's supposed to be excellent makeup. My friend buys it from there when she can afford it. She loves it... so I guess its good stuff

I like it mainly because it is a good product, and I get it for 40% off as long as I pay the yearly fee of $45. It turns out to be waayyy cheaper than other brands, plus the product selection is phenomenal.

I have to recommend the make up artist I used for my wedding, Charrisse... She did such an amazing job!!! She travels throughout the lower mainland and will come to your home the day of the wedding. BTB look under the hair and makeup link, there are a few artists posted there. I have personally seen Yasiv's work, she is great.
