I don't think this is the right place, but I don't see a swap shop, so my apologies to the admin's if I am in the wrong place here - please move me?? I am a weddingbells refugee at the moment - I have had some really awful family problems, and well, my family found weddingbells (where I was going for help, advice and support) and my brother has taken it upon himself to monitor wedding bells and harass me into not posting. I am letting him win, for now, as my cousin is getting married at the end of October, I am her MOH and they will all be there so I will do what I can to keep the peace. Anyways, enough of me - now you know why I haven't posted here much, but all of a sudden show up with a dress for sale - If you want to check me out I have the same name on Weddingbells.

Anyways, I have a street size 5-6 Jasmine wedding gown for sale. - I am 5ft 6in and about 125lbs. My wonderful photographer Eddy has several pictures of it here:

I paid over $1200 after alterations but will let it go for $600, or $500 if you will worry about getting it cleaned. I loved it very much and felt like a princess, but I can't justify keeping it - weddings are expensive!! I also have a "real" steel and silk corset (custom cut to fit under that dress) that I paid over $300 for but didn't end up wearing as I lost a bunch of weight (something good from stress). It's great "insurance" against that last minute "OMG I gained 10 lbs since my last fitting" which did actually happen to a friend of mine. I'd also let the corset go for 1/2 price. Hey gals, so in the end, I sent this dress to The Brides Project in toronto. It cost me $14 for shipping (way cheaper than dress preservation!!) and they will clean and re-sell it to another bride to raise money to send Kids with cancer to camp, and fund cancer research. If you haven't heard of them, check them out - www.thebridesproject.com

I also bought my veil from them - custom made and very reasonable and like everything else they do -the proceeds went to charity!!

Anyways, just a thought for anyone else thinking they can part with their dress...maybe use it to make someone elses day a bit brighter...
