Need your ideas and help

Thanks for your support.

Sorry to bring this up again. I noted that the number of new posts and new user registration have decreased continuously in the last days. From the site access statistics, we are attracting more out-of-province visitors and US visitors than people in BC . Most of the new members are actually vendors. I am still open to ideas to make this forum better and attract more local brides.

I know that it's a chicken and egg problem. I am trying to make this forum more attractive by adding the weblog and changing the color scheme. I am not that creative and desperately need some suggestions. Thanks.

BTW, the code of the promotion signature has changed. Please see my signature below.

I personally think the forum is great. Perhaps the most effective way to get it out to more ppl is also the way that involoves money. For ex. putting out an add in a local newspaper (Georgia straight or richmond weekly news etc.) or getting a booth at a wedding fair. If this forum stays non-profit, we can also put out a community add on local radio stations (the beat, fox) or tv programs (Channel M, Global etc. ) that has a "whats going on the community" sort of segment (I have done this before and it is very effective). It is easy to do if you just look up their websites and send out an email to them. It just has to be a non-profit event/site we can advertise this way. After April 12 (when I finish my schooling) I can look into that...must finish studying first! If anybody wants to look into it earlier, feel free. You could also ask the vendors on this site if they would like to add your link to their personal sites - since this site is "free advertisement" for them...its only fair. Perhaps it can be a vendor requirement (vendors can comment if this isn't feasible)! You can also print out little hand outs and go to different wedding shops and ask if they would keep them at their store, or stick it into the customers purchase bag. Don't get discouraged, 'admin', it really is a great site!!!

I agree with PP!! I can't do much until my exams are over (April 9th, bio lab final, then I'm done, wahoo!) but after that I can certainly put more effort in to promoting this. I noticed on that stats that Craigslist is bringing in hits. Has anyone posted on there since I did?? I put up a notice about this website, perhaps I can quickly relist it. Also when I have time I will make a post on Clubvibes.com and Clubzone.com unless someone wants to beat me to it.

This was my post on Craigslist:

I just re-posted the same ad!

23 1 21 Google?

I was actually looking for something like this when I found it. I don't really remember how I came upon this forum but I know it took a bit of searching! I don't really know how this work but I think that the best way to be noticed would be to appear on the Google list when search words "wedding forum + Vancouver" are entered. Just an idea...it may be a tough and expensive project!
Good luck!

Thanks so much for the post at craigslist. Now when you search for "Vancouver Wedding Forum" at google, your post at craigslist is the first one on the list!!
